Senior People Operations Specialist
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $83,200 - $104,000 per year
Location: Redwood City, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior People Operations Specialist to join our growing team. This is a key player in driving operational excellence in our day-to-day activities across HR processes, employee lifecycle management, and systems. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members both within HR as well as IT and Finance to support HR systems, people analytics, compliance, and immigration activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day data entry and processing in Workday and other HR systems, including employee lifecycle transactions related to new hires, terminations, internal transfers, promotions, etc.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting regular audits of worker data, including in HR systems (Workday, ADP, Emtrain, etc.) while upholding compliance with internal standards and legal requirements
- Support internal and external audits by preparing reports and responding to data requests
- Support the creation of custom data reports for the HR team and key cross-functional stakeholders by creating and maintaining standard and ad hoc Workday reports
- Review and maintain HR SOPs and standard policies while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Identify improvements and partner across the HR team to define solutions that automate or standardize our HR processes and drive efficiency, scalability, and employee satisfaction
- Provide administrative support for immigration-related activities, including maintaining employee files and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and deadlines
- Stay current on People trends and recommend tools or enhancements that support business growth and employee experience
- Collaborate closely with Finance, IT, and other departments to support business operations and align on shared goals
- Contribute to other People Operations and HR projects that enhance employee experience
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in in People Operations, HR systems, or HR analytics roles, ideally in high-growth and dynamically changing environments
- Experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, ChartHop, or equivalent)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in building dashboards, reports, and actionable insights from people data
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and data accuracy, with a proven ability to manage sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
- Experience managing data integrity, compliance, and system administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving/analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint); experience with Workday reporting tools is a plus
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative, fast-paced HR environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Smartsheet preferred
- Experience with Workday system
