Research Associate II DSP

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $83,200 - $93,600 per year

Location: Menlo Park, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

As a Research Associate, you will manage unit operations and collect data to develop scalable processes to separate and purify bio-derived Starting Materials and APIs from bench to Pilot scale. This role requires a strong understanding of the fate of impurities, product stability, and degradation mechanisms, as well as identifying unit operations and key parameters to establish operating ranges and meet target COGs. You will work cross-functionally with the Biology, Analytics, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory departments to support the team in developing sustainable processes that produce in-specification products within the timelines established.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with safety protocols and ensure the safety of co-workers.
  • Comply with regulatory and DEA requirements when required for handling, disposal, and documentation.
  • Support project teams in delivering on project goals.
  • Perform studies following experimental protocols.
  • Run regular unit operations and data collection for analysis.
  • Prepare samples for Analytical methods.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Work cross-functionally and provide documentation for transparency and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemistry or applicable area of study
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Skills in sample preparation and analysis, Liquid-Solid, and Liquid-Liquid separation are required
  • Analytical and compound isolation laboratory experience
  • Hands-on experience with bench scale filtration, evaporation, and crystallization
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience writing reports
  • Analytical Chemistry experience with HPLC/UPLC is a plus
