Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and technically skilled Quality Control Inspector to perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on our assembled products prior to shipment. This role is critical to ensuring that all mechanical, electronic, and integrated systems meet customer specifications, function as intended, and are documented for compliance. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, familiarity with test procedures, and the ability to work closely with both engineering and production teams to uphold the highest quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on finished assemblies, subassemblies, and integrated systems in accordance with documented procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Verify functionality, completeness, and conformance of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test protocols to validate system operation and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Inspect for visual defects, proper assembly, labeling, and cable routing, ensuring no damage or non-conforming conditions are present.
  • Cross-check part numbers, revisions, and configuration against BOMs, test instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct a final comprehensive inspection of fully assembled products, verifying that all mechanical, electronic, and cosmetic aspects meet quality and customer specifications prior to shipment.
  • Verify that product labeling, packaging, and accompanying documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform or coordinate functional tests to confirm the operational readiness and reliability of the finished product.
  • Identify, document, and report any final assembly defects or quality issues, working with Production or Engineering teams to initiate timely corrective actions or rework.
  • Communicate and escalate non-conformances to Engineering, Quality, or Production teams for resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Shipping and Logistics to ensure quality standards are upheld during packaging, handling, and preparation for customer delivery.
  • Collaborate with customers or third-party auditors who may witness FAT activities.
  • Ensure ESD protocols, PPE requirements, and cleanroom practices (if applicable) are consistently followed during inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department and company goals.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in electronics or manufacturing is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in quality control, FAT, or final inspection in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer literacy, with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for logging results and generating reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of electromechanical systems and inspection methods.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO, AS9100, IPC-A-610) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing FAT in aerospace, telecom, or defense manufacturing
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and test report generation tools
  • Certification in IPC-A-610, AS9102, or equivalent quality inspection standards
