Project Manager - Internal Biotech Partner Site

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $124,800 - $145,600 per year

Location: Berkeley, CA - Onsite Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage detailed Gantt charts covering synthesis, assay development, and equipment installation.
• Proactively identify and escalate critical path delays or operational blockers.
• Oversee tracking of biologic materials across the partner facility, academic collaborators, and external CROs.
• Manage MTAs, customs documentation, pathogen screening requirements, and logistics coordination.
• Co-led the establishment of core assay capabilities at the partner site.
• Coordinate protocol alignment and reagent distribution across internal and external testing locations.
• Own purchasing processes for facility equipment and consumables.
• Monitor expenditures, track budgets, and manage monthly reimbursement workflows.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the partner facility, internal teams, academic collaborators, and international partners.
• Coordinate sample transport logistics and assay scheduling across sites.
• Maintain a centralized communication hub as the single source of operational truth.
• Deliver weekly milestone updates, risk assessments, and status reports.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Proven ability to operate effectively in high-urgency, resource-constrained environments.
• Experience in lab operations, vendor management, and multi-site project coordination.
• Strong proficiency with Gantt charts, project management platforms, and procurement tracking systems.
• Advanced digital fluency (e.g., Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Claude, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within cell or gene therapy manufacturing and testing pipelines.
• Familiarity with MTAs, regulatory laboratory operations, or international import/export logistics.
