Direct Hire Full-Time Role

Salary Range: $156,000 - $140,000 per year

Location: Santa Clara, CA - Onsite Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that output from Production, Quality Control, Packaging, and Shipping meets established schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery expectations.
• Determine, maintain, and establish minimum finished-goods inventory levels based on sales forecasts.
• Manage, discipline, and evaluate the Shipping Supervisor, Production Supervisor and Lead, QC Supervisor and Lead, and Packaging Supervisor and Lead.
• Oversee and provide training for the Shipping, Production, QC, and Packaging Supervisors, as well as other staff as needed.
• Coordinate recruiting efforts for Production, Quality Control, Packaging, and Shipping in collaboration with Human Resources and department Supervisors.
• Coordinate with Upper Management, Facilities, Accounting, Purchasing, Customer Service, Regulatory, and other departments to meet organizational goals related to safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
• Collaborate with Research & Development and Product Development/Engineering teams, providing input and troubleshooting support to ensure product quality and organizational profitability.
• Provide direct oversight, supervision, training, and evaluation of the QC Supervisor and general guidance to QC staff to ensure proper quality control of all incoming and outgoing products and equipment.
• Provide direct oversight, supervision, training, and evaluation of the Shipping Supervisor and general guidance to the Shipping team regarding outgoing orders, backorders, and shared inventory oversight with Accounting and Purchasing.
• Provide direct oversight, supervision, training, and evaluation of the Packaging Supervisor and general guidance to Packaging staff to ensure quality packaging of all outgoing products.
• Provide direct oversight, supervision, training, and evaluation of the Production Supervisor and general guidance to Production staff to ensure high-quality, on-time product delivery.
• Approve and coordinate with the Purchasing Department regarding laboratory needs, including materials, instruments, repairs, and maintenance.
• Hire staff for Production, Shipping and Receiving, Inventory, QC, and Packaging.
• Develop manufacturing plans and production schedules with all Manufacturing Supervisors to increase profit while reducing overhead.
• Establish quality and safety standards and monitor vendor and organizational performance.
• Administer established policies and procedures for all Manufacturing teams.
• Provide input and direction on departmental budgets, expenditures, benchmarking, and salary adjustments.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• B.S. in Biology or a related field.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience (2-3 years of multi-department management preferred).
• Knowledge and experience in Manufacturing Management preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to think critically, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
• Familiarity with laboratory environments and handling laboratory materials.
• Proficiency with the internet/email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work periodically in a cold room maintained at 2-8°C (35.6-46.4°F).
