Financial Analyst
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $83,200 - $93,600 per year
Location: Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform IT portfolio capital and expense management, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, month-end close, Annual Budget/LRP, and reporting activities.
- Partner closely with portfolio leads and project managers to develop monthly capital and expense forecasts that accurately predict business performance and highlight risks and opportunities as appropriate.
- Track and reconcile financial activity by portfolio and project to ensure accuracy and maintain adherence to budgeted spend and proper accounting.
- Assist in preparing monthly reporting, including variance analysis.
- Partner closely with IT finance managers and leadership to highlight portfolio status, financial performance, and health.
- Assist in capital expenditure request (CER) approval preparation. Partner with IT finance managers, project managers, and leadership to understand upcoming initiatives, attend review meetings, and assist in the preparation of documents for corporate finance.
- Perform asset disposal and write-off accounting for retired assets relating to new projects or projects identified as end-of-life.
- Participate in annual IT budget and LRP exercises.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an analytical field
- 1-3 years of experience in a financial analysis and planning group
- Understanding of GAAP and accounting methodologies
- Analytical ability: can synthesize large amounts of data, be able to correct errors, reconcile work, and be able to design analysis to answer specific questions
- A detail-oriented approach: must pay close attention to the details and strive for correctness
- Strong organizational skills
- General ledger and accounts payable research and reconciliation experience, a complete understanding of debits and credits, and accrual-based accounting
- Able to cope with pressure and changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Trustworthy handling of confidential financial information
- Reliable attendance and timeliness; can ensure consistency in daily reporting
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently and exercise independent judgment
- Strong Excel and Word skills; able to learn multiple new back-end software applications (i.e., PeopleSoft Financial Systems)
