Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly technical Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to drive complex platform-infrastructure and cloud initiatives from early development through production rollout.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive complex platform and cloud infrastructure programs from development through production.
  • Partner closely with software, platform, infrastructure, and SRE engineering teams.
  • Understand platform architecture sufficiently to participate meaningfully in technical discussions.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and decision points.
  • Identify cross-team technical dependencies early and drive them to closure.
  • Coordinate work across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, SRE, and application teams.
  • Ensure production-readiness requirements are identified and addressed before launch.
  • Partner with SRE and operations teams on supportability, monitoring, alerting, capacity, reliability, and operational ownership.
  • Manage relationships with multiple internal engineering organizations consuming the platform.
  • Translate technical requirements, risks, and status across engineering teams, internal customers, and senior leadership.
  • Drive resolution of ownership gaps, technical blockers, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Coordinate infrastructure provisioning, platform integration, validation, rollout, migration, and operational handoff activities.
  • Ensure technical decisions and program tradeoffs are clearly documented.
  • Track critical-path dependencies and proactively address schedule or delivery risk.
  • Present program status, risks, decisions, and technical context to senior leadership.
  • Respond credibly to technical questions during leadership and stakeholder reviews.
  • Drive ambiguous initiatives independently with limited supervision.
  • Maintain focus on complete program outcomes rather than individual task completion.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience managing complex technical engineering programs.
  • Strong technical foundation in software engineering, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or a closely related area.
  • Ability to understand system architecture, technical design documents, APIs, infrastructure dependencies, and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture and managed cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and service dependencies.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, including DNS, routing, load balancing, VPC networking, and service connectivity.
  • Understanding of software development and deployment lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, production deployment, monitoring, and operational-readiness concepts.
  • Ability to identify technical dependencies and translate them into program plans and sequencing.
  • Strong cross-functional program-management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing risks, milestones, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder and internal customer management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and drive ambiguous programs to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous software-engineering or platform-engineering experience.
  • Experience with Go, Java, Python, or another general-purpose programming language.
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based platform environments.
  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud, or other large-scale cloud environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
  • Experience with Helm or Kubernetes deployment tooling.
  • Experience with large-scale platform migrations or multi-cloud programs.
  • Experience supporting internal developers or infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience coordinating production launches involving SRE or operations organizations.
  • Experience working with networking, security, infrastructure, and application engineering teams.
  • Experience presenting technical programs to senior or executive leadership.
