Electromechanical Technician
Direct Hire Full-Time Role
Pay Rate: $23 - $27 per hour
Location: Janesville, WI - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electromechanical Technician who will implement mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation and controls (I&C) maintenance activities, based on individual training and qualification, at a new cGMP isotope production facility in Janesville, WI. The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the performance of preventive maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing first-of-a-kind and specialty nuclear and chemical processing equipment, as well as standard industrial facility electrical and HVAC equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely perform routine and non-routine installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of various components and equipment in a nuclear isotope production facility, including but not limited to industrial compressed air systems, high-purity water systems, and HVAC systems.
- Safely perform testing and surveillance activities related to the start-up and commissioning of a new facility and or new manufacturing equipment; analyze problems with equipment and system performance, and recommend corrective action.
- Keep all required safety and GMP-related training current and follow all regulatory requirements.
- Support the department's budget by exercising sound judgment, promoting cost-effective decisions, and implementing best practices.
- Develop or assist in the development of work instructions for maintenance activities.
- Provide clear, written feedback on work execution and performance, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safely perform all work within facility-approved administrative and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
- Safely performs daily and routine facility and equipment checks, surveillance logs, and work area housekeeping.
- Safely operate powered industrial trucks, overhead bridge cranes, and similar equipment.
- Perform administrative activities associated with plant activities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or laboratory setting with familiarity with chemical, mechanical, and/or electrical systems.
- Willingness to learn and understand new technology, instrumentation, and technical processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems, including BAS, pneumatic, vacuum, electrical, electronic, PLCs, and cooling systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Ability to follow written procedures and accurately record data
- Managing and completing corrective maintenance and project work in a timely and effective manner to support operational continuity.
- Ability to work safely within an industrial and radiation environment.
- Although flexible work hours may be available, overtime will sometimes be necessary to complete the required work assignment with little or no advance notice.
- The position may require non-standard work hours and shift work, including nights and weekends, on a periodic, rotating, or ongoing basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant engineering technology or related technical or physical science field.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with working in a cGMP environment, specifically in cleanrooms
- Experience working in and around radiation areas is preferred.
- Experience in a radiopharmaceutical laboratory, commercial nuclear facility maintenance or operations, or Navy Nuclear experience is a significant plus.
