Backend Software Engineer: Golang (Infrastructure as Code)

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $124,800 - $145,600 per year

Location: Cupertino, CA - Remote Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and build a custom SDK layer on top of Crossplane, enabling internal teams to accelerate resource provisioning and orchestration.
• Own development of Crossplane Compositions and providers using Golang.
• Scale platform capabilities and infrastructure automation to 2x current capacity and performance levels.
• Architect, automate, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure deployments.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code with strong Golang development practices.
• Build and optimize IaC workflows, automation pipelines, and orchestration frameworks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to standardize infrastructure workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues across K8s, IaC, cloud resources, and composition layers.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strong professional experience with Golang for platform/tooling development.
• Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes internals, CRDs, controllers, operators, and deployment strategies.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts, workflows, and automation.
• Experience building or maintaining Crossplane compositions and providers.
• Deep knowledge of the cloud-native ecosystem and distributed infrastructure.
• Proven ability to scale automation systems at large enterprise levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience with Crossplane development (SDK, providers, compositions).
• Hands-on work with Pulumi, Terraform, or similar IaC tools.
• Experience with infrastructure orchestration frameworks at scale.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and service provisioning at enterprise capacity.
