Top 5 iPad Apps for Business

Posted May 24th, 2012

The Apple-launched tablet, known as the iPad, has had quite the influence in just about all of our lives.

The iPad has made its way into the lives of the student set as it is taking over how academics is learned, and it’s not just college students, but middle school students as well.

The iPad is becoming a ubiquitous piece of technology and can be a game changer for quite a few people in your business. The iPad is proving that you can blend ease of use with high functionality, and that’s music to a business-owner’s ears.

Why is it that the iPad has become so popular?

Apps. Apps are the windows to a whole new world of connectivity and productivity that businesses crave.

When you can do work while on-the-go, write documents when you’re in a stitch, or if you need entertainment to keep you distracted from the fact that the new guy hasn’t delivered the expense report yet, the iPad apps have you covered.

Why should your business care about iPad apps?

  1. Hootsuite for iPad. Social media has become so integral to business marketing that it would be a shame not to have this handy little app at your fingertips. Crisis situations arise from the social mediums and it’s best to have it around in case there’s something that comes up that needs quick attention. Hootsuite will cover your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Foursquare accounts simultaneously.
  2. Dropbox. You’re running late to a meeting and your copywriter forgot to get you the copy before you left the office. Not a problem with an app like Dropbox. This handy application saved any documents you’ve created onto any device that has Dropbox. It’s no longer a sketchy email attachment but the real document, ready to go.
  3. SyncPad. This little app put the power of web editing at your darling fingertips, literally. If there is something, like say a web page overhaul, being done and you want to have some say but are away from the office, you can write on the webpage like a virtual whiteboard.
  4. Yammer. Social media like Facebook and Twitter are so important these days, and virtually everyone is on them, but when it comes to employees and the way they discuss ideas with one another, wouldn’t you rather they do it in a more secure place? The Yammer app has all the fruits of social media but it’s private enough to keep company ideas flowing among those who are invited to the group.
  5. AirDisplay for iPad. Multiple tabs and windows open on your browser, a slew of documents, iTunes, and your email window are all open on your desktop and it’s hard to pay attention with all the virtual clutter. Free up some space by using the AirDisplay app. It’ll act as a second LCD monitor for Mac and PC.

Apps can be so versatile or they can be so necessary for a niche job. The best part of the wide variety is that it’s easy to choose which ones you want and you can easily delete unnecessary ones if they become obsolete to you.
